YORKSHIREMAN Bill Swallow (pictured above) finally equalled age old rival Bob Heath’s record number of 15 Pre-TT Classic wins when he took victory in the opening race of the Blackford’s Financial Services-sponsored meeting at a sun-kissed Billown on Saturdayafternoon.

Having trailed Blackpool’s Roy Richardson for virtually the entire distance in the Singles 350cc race, Swallow was handed the win when Richardson’s Linton Aermacchi slowed and eventually stopped half-way round the sixth and final circuit.

Alan Oversby finished a distant second, with Mike Hose third after local man Allan Brew also went missing on the final lap.

Bob Millinship won the 250cc class at the third attempt from 84-year-old veteran Ted Fenwick, with newcomer Keith Shannon third.
