Parker & Snell Company returns to the Gaiety on Thursday for one night only with its highly acclaimed production of TWO.
Lisa Kreisky and Carl Parker will between them perform a total of 14 characters from all walks of life in Jim Cartwright’s diverse and award-winning play.
They first performed the play at the Gaiety in 2011, with our review stating the production was ‘absolutely drenched in talent, drama, emotion and wit’.
The audience is asked to prepare for a night down the pub like no other!
TWO represents a microcosm of working class life, combining pathos and humour with a story line that twists and turns.
Set in a busy bar one night in 1989, the pub represents the heart of a community where relationships are laid bare and characters we all recognise share their ups and downs, their flaws and qualities.
The Sunday Times has described the writing as ‘brilliantly, surrealistically and comically poetic’.
Producer Carl said: ‘We are delighted to be bringing this production back to the Gaiety Theatre.
‘Even now people still talk about the previous production and how they think it was one of the best productions we have staged, with some stating that it is the best play ever to be staged at the Gaiety Theatre, an accolade which we are very proud of.
‘Lisa and I along with Colin Snell (director) are very much looking forward to performing this piece of theatre once more.’
All profits generated from the production will be donated to the island branch of the Alzheimer’s Society.
The show starts at 7.30pm.
Tickets cost £10 (concessions £8).
They are available from the Gaiety Theatre box office on 600555 or online at www.villagaiety.com
