‘Art in the Park’ will be held in the Villa Marina Gardens, Harris Promenade, Douglas, and Sayle Gallery from 10am to 4pm on Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Admission is free and this is a chance for everyone to get creative.

Demonstrations and workshops will include:

Wood carving demonstrations by some of the island’s best wood sculptors, Gavin Carter, Simon Capelen and Graham Hall.

There will be ‘Get Carving’ sessions for all, creating public sculptures to be exhibited in the Villa Marina gardens;

Ceramic art demonstrations by David Metaxas and Celine Appleyard along with clay modelling sessions for all ages;

Circus wagon painting and decoration demonstrations with Simon Buttimore;

Graphic art demonstrations;

Origami classes;

Printmaking workshops in the gallery with Christian Hardman, the Sayle Gallery artist in residence;

Art and craft classes for all ages with Jackie Kelly, Laura Espinosa and Hannah Ketteridge, including watercolour and acrylic painting and stone painting.

There is even a live owl model available on Friday afternoon;

Bungee trampolines; and

Other craft demonstrations available throughout the weekend.

Light snacks and refreshments from Cafe Villa will be available in the gardens.

The event is sponsored by the Isle of Man Arts Council, Manx Lottery Trust, Isle of Man Decorative and Fine Arts Society and PokerStars.
