A race for plastic ducks will be taking place in Glen Maye tomorrow (Saturday).
It will run from 1pm to 4pm.
Organisers are promising ‘duck-related stalls’, ‘duck games’ a ‘duck treasure hunt’, and refreshments as well as the duck race, which will take place on the stream through the glen from near the lower picnic site.
The open races are at 2.15pm and 3.25pm and the corporate race is at 2.45pm.
Race entrance fee is £2, which covers both open races or half price if you bring your own plastic or rubber duck.
All shapes and sizes of ducks are welcome to take on the river, and they can be decorated or plain, although no powered ducks are allowed.
Plastic racing ducks can be hired on the day. Prizes include a return ticket for a car and two adults on the Steam Packet.
All proceeds will go to Glen Maye Chapel’s community centre project.
