GET down to the Villa Marina Promenade Suite this Saturday for a night of pure soul!
The island’s own Soul Suspects band will be live onstage at this event, which will take place from 8pm til late and is free to everyone all night.
The band was started nearly 10 years ago and, despite a number of line-up changes over the years, has been consistently entertaining audiences with only the best soul classics.
Its brass section is made up of some of the islands best musicians.
Soul Suspects always pick songs with great brass lines, in particular Stevie Wonder, James Brown, Wilson Pickett and Sam & Dave. And they also do a few numbers like Booker T’s Green Onions and Van Morrison’s Moondance to give the instrumentalists the opportunity to express themselves. The band’s rhythm section comprises drums, bass, guitar and piano and the lead singer has a powerful voice.
‘He isn’t afraid to sing the most feared of soul music, and in the original keys!’ said band member Kevin Madigan, of Big Small Fish music events,‘As a whole we like to really capture that sound and hopefully fill the dance floor while we do it!’
