All ages have been showcasing their music, speech and dance talents in this year’s Manx Music Festival.

Taking place at the Villa Marina and Empress Hotel in Douglas, competitions have been taking place each day since Friday.

Tonight (Thursday) the Royal Hall will be filled by adult voices singing Songs from the Musicals. Tickets £5 are available from the Villa Marina box office.

Tickets for other sessions are £3, while tickets for the final night on Saturday are £10.

Lieutenant Governor Adam Wood will be in the audience for the climax of the festival on Saturday evening with the adult competition for the Cleveland Medal, donated annually by Ohio (USA) Manx Society, and competed for by the winners of six special solo classes held during festival week.

Prior to the Cleveland Medal test, the night sees the competition for the Sheffield Plate, which is competed for by the winners of nine junior classes.

Adjudicator on the final night is international mezzo soparano Maria Jagusz who will also give a recital. The following day, Sunday, Maria will lead a vocal master class, 2-5pm, in the Villa’s Promenade Suite.

Results from competitions are being posted on the festival website www.manxmusicfestival.org
