THE Moscow State Circus is returning to Britain and giving audiences a great opportunity to see the award-winning show Legenda with its huge cast of Russia’s greatest and most talented performers.
The circus will come to town next week to perform for three days in the Gaiety Theatre, Douglas.
Starting on Tuesday night, it will include many critically acclaimed acts who push the boundaries of human physical ingenuity to the limit.
This show is a sensational encounter between the world’s most famous circus and the legendary Russian folk lore figure Rasputin combining to create a spectacular show which fuses contemporary and classical circus.
Rasputin was often described as a romantic, a mystic, a visionary - words that could easily be used to describe this new show.
It is Rasputin’s vivid dreams which form the theme of this performance, intertwining the pride of Russia’s most magnificent circus artists and modern special effects.
The line-up will feature Gregory’s Girls suspended in mid-air on floating silks, Doctorov’s unbelievable Human Statues and breathtaking action high in the roof defying gravity and the laws of physics, the Bortnikova body twisting contortionists, the Russian bar acrobatics of the four strong Vassiliev Troupe, the astounding illusions of Gorbachevsky and the Whirlwind Juggling Kovtun.
Award-winning clowns Valik and Valerik, who have perfected the art of slapstick and Buster Keaton style cunning capers, will also appear.
And the unbelievable crossbow act of the Popazov will feature a wife shooting an apple from her husband’s head with seven crossbows firing simultaneously.
This will be the last ever tour of Legenda - so don’t miss it!
Tickets start at £20 (concessions start at £11.50).
The first show is at 8pm on Tuesday, then there will be performances at 5pm and 8pm on Wednesday and Thursday.
