AN evening of musical magic awaits as stars from the London stage present West End Gold at The Villa Marina this Sunday.

The show is packed full of songs from the world’s greatest musicals, including hits from Miss Saigon, Mamma Mia, Jersey Boys, Guys and Dolls, Phantom of the Opera and Les Miserables.

Heading up the cast is Manxman Stephen Palfreman, currently playing Mickey in the London production of Blood Brothers. And he is very excited about coming home for the show.

‘It’s going to be a fantastic night and we can’t wait to get on stage at the Villa. It’s a show with something for everyone, with songs from West Side Story to Wicked,’ he said. ‘Rehearsals have been going really well and all the cast and musicians have worked really hard.’

Making a special guest appearance at the show is Samantha Barks – currently playing Eponine in Les Miserables. She has managed to take time out of her busy schedule to be part of the show.

‘We are so excited to have Sam on board,’ said Stephen. ‘She’s hugely in demand at the moment, so we’re really lucky that she’s able to fly in to perform at the show.’

Amongst the cast will also be seasoned West End performers Chris Holland, Vivienne Carlyle and Louise Clayton.

Chris has a long list of musical credits to his name, including appearances in We Will Rock You, Grease and Whistle Down The Wind, and he was also part of the original London cast of Dirty Dancing The Musical.

Vivienne played the Narrator in Joseph and His Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat for two years at the New London Theatre and has also appeared in Blood Brothers, Tommy the Musical and The Drowsey Chaperone.

And Louise is currently playing alongside Stephen in Blood Brothers.

A five-piece band of musicians are also flying in especially for the evening, which is being produced by 2BG Productions in association with Manx Radio.

A very limited number of tickets are still available starting at £20. To book, visit the Welcome Centre, call 600555 or visit www.villagaiety.com
