The World Tin Bath Championship returns on Saturday, August 16, to Castletown middle harbour for the 43rd year.
From 3pm there will be the annual mayhem in the harbour as people set out in tin baths or snake boats. Competitors are reminded that entries for the tin bath and snake race classes close at midnight on August 3. For an entry form contact Dave Collister, 49 Malew Street, Castletown, phone 823996
There are also some spare baths this year, supplied by Pokerstars, so everyone is urged to join in and help Castletown Ale Drinkers raise money for local charities.
There are also a few places left for anyone wishing to take part in the snake races (teams comprise four men and two girls), snakes will be provided and no experience is necessary. Anyone wishing to take part in the man-powered flight to bid for the £50,000 prize by flying round the bay and back can contact Dave for details.
