WORLD renowned Abba tribute show Thank You For The Music is coming to the Gaiety Theatre tomorrow (Saturday, July 9).

Fast becoming the UK’s top touring production of 2011, Thank You For the Music promises a night jam-packed full of Abba favourites.

The set is expectred to include Mamma Mia, Dancing Queen, Super Trouper, Waterloo, Fernando, Knowing Me Knowing You, Take a Chance on Me, The Winner Takes it All and many other golden favourites from the iconic band.

The original foursome were Anna-Frid Lyngstad, Bjorn Ulvaeus, Benny Anderson and Agnetha Falskog.

They first started performing together in 1970, but did not find a great deal of success until 1972 with the Swedish hit People Need Love.

In 1974, however, they won the Eurovision song contest with the song Waterloo, which went on to top music charts all over Europe and Australia.

The quartet went on to a huge amount of success from then on, making 19 top-20 hits and topping the charts no fewer than nine times with songs such as SOS and Dancing Queen in the UK alone.

The quartet inspired not only the production of this tribute show, but also a record breaking movie, Mamma Mia, and smash hit West End musical.

Abba’s incredible musical legacy also continues to live on with compilation albums such as The Best of ABBA and Greatest Hits which are still among the greatest selling albums of all time.

Earlier this year Abba were also inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.

This is the Thank You For The Music show’s 18th year on the road performing all the ABBA hits that have entertained nations worldwide for years.

This year the show celebrates the 35th anniversay of Abba’s biggest hit single Dancing Queen by featuring brand new choreography, sparkling new costumes and a recently revamped score.

Tickets cost £18 and are still available at the box office on 600555, at the Sea Terminal Welcome Centre or online at www.villagaiety.com and www.easytheatres.com
