Fashion enthusiasts, retailers, and charity groups from around the island are coming together this Saturday and Sunday (August 31 and September 1) to celebrate a love of vintage fashion and share their enthusiasm with the public.
The fair, hosted at the Market Hall in Douglas, will have over a dozen stalls selling vintage fashion items for men and women of all ages, including interesting items from the Victorian era to 1990s. The creator of the event is menswear design graduate, Calum Harvey. Originally from Laxey, Harvey says his love of vintage fashion blossomed from growing up in a small and creative family.
Harvey decided to hold the fair with fellow fashion enthusiast, Billee Saade ‘to celebrate quality vintage clothing and accessories’.
It’s fair to say that the fashion scene on the island is fairly quiet and so it’s great to see enthusiastic people taking part and trying to develop the area more.
With more than 100 likes on Facebook, keen interest from many unique retailers and quickly accelerating support from the public, the Vintage Fashion Fair is all set to entertain fashion lovers, please shopaholics and be a great event to check out for all generations.
The fair will run at the weekend at the Market Hall from 10am until 5pm. Admission is free, food is available inside and a great vintage prize is to be won.
