PLANES Over Paris are still flying high after their support slot for the Kaiser Chiefs – and they will be returning to the Villa Marina's Royal Hall stage just next month
The band flew the flag for the Manx music scene with an extremely well received set before the Kaisers' stunning performance to a sold-out crowd on August 26.

Organised by Lenny Conroy of Triskel Promotions, there was an incredible atmosphere at the Villa all night.

POP – which features Paul Salisbury (guitar and vocals), Ben O'Hare (drums), Steph Gomaa (keyboards and vocals) and Martyn Cain (bass) will be opening for Pigs On The Wing, the Manx band who perform the music of Pink Floyd, on Saturday, October 10, at the Villa.

In terms of the Kaiser Chiefs support, they said: 'Our experience of the night was simply mind-blowing. A large part of this was down to the efficiency of work on Triskel's part. Soundchecks ran smoothly and to time, which settled any worries we might have had prior to the show.

'The Kaisers and the crew were all very friendly and welcomed us into their very well rehearsed show, helping out with our set up and getting things off stage after the gig.

'We thought the seven songs we played on the night were well received by the crowd and have spent the past week surfing on a wave of excitement about being able to get back into the Royal Hall in October.'

Next month's gig will see Pigs On The Wing perform for the first time since TT 2006 and the concert is in aid of sidecar racers Nick Crowe and Mark Cox who were injured in an accident at Ballacob during this year's TT.

Doors open on the night at 7pm and the show, organised by JonnoPromotions, starts at 8pm.

Tickets priced at £10 each are available from the Welcome Centre at the Sea Terminal, Douglas, from the ticket hotline on 600555 and online at www.villagaiety.com
