THE second annual Isle of Man GuitarFest was due to get underway as What Where When went to press.
The event will see world-class players and local musicians in action in different venues across the Island.
It all starts tonight (Thursday) with visiting artists Angelo Palladino and the Skeleton Crew set to play at the Centenary Centre in Peel with support from top local band Walter Ego.
Friday sees the start of the free Manx Telecom Acoustic Stage at the Villa Arcade.
It starts at midday and will feature local musicians all afternoon, followed by a headline slot by visiting musician Amrit Sond.
Saturday it runs from 10am and ends with a headline slot from visiting musicians Pete Smith and Roger Inniss.
On Sunday it starts at midday and ends with a headline slot by visiting musician Michael Berk.

Meanwhile top classical guitarist Gary Ryan will perform at the Gaiety Theatre, Douglas, tonight with support from Pete Smith and Roger Inniss, while tomorrow Gordon Giltrap, Pierre Bensusan and Michael Berk will each be appearing separately on the bill at the Gaiety Theatre.

A range of concessions is available including for Manx Grand Prix riders and teams and TT and Manx Grand Prix marshals, all of whom need to present relevant ID to get the concessionary prices.
In addition to the concerts there are masterclasses by the visiting musicians at Peter Norris Music, Douglas, Saturday and Sunday. They are £5 each for adults and £3 for young people.
Saturday Masterclasses: 10.30am to noon Pierre Bensusan (DADGAD/Alternative Tunings Masterclass); 1pm to 2.30pm: Gary Ryan (Classical Workshop); 3pm to 4.30pm: Rod Clements (Slide Masterclass).
Sunday Masterclasses: 1pm to 2.30pm: Roger Inniss (Bass Guitar workshop); 3pm to 4.30pm: Gordon Giltrap (composition).
The festival has again been organised by Jonno Gollow of JonnoPromotions. Last year the inaugural GuitarFest took place which featured top guitarists Albert Lee, Clive Carroll and many more.
