Marine Drive served up an absolutely stunning frosty sunrise this morning, shimmering sea, dramatic clouds, that crisp 'winter is coming' air… and, naturally, a pile of fly-tipped tyres to ruin the scene.
Braddan Commissioners shared photos with a level of rage best described as 'quietly seething but still using emojis'.
And fair enough, fly tipping is on the rise, and is a criminal offence, and the team said it investigates every single incident, especially on Marine Drive, which isn’t just pretty, but also an important wildlife habitat and a designated ASSI.

It also might come as a surprise to some folk that part of Marine Drive is in the parish of Braddan.
So yes, tyres dumped there = bad. Very bad.
Nature is crying. Commissioners are fuming. Gef is also fuming this morning.
The message is simple: If you’ve got waste, please dispose of it properly. Use the right channels!
If anyone knows who decided to treat Marine Drive like their personal bin, Braddan Commissioners would very much like a word. Give their office a shout, preferably before more tyres appear.
