The Manx Society Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is appealing for the owner of a dog found wandering in the Abbeylands area to come forward.
The female dog was brought into the charity’s care by a member of the public on Saturday, October 10, but staff have been unable to identify her owner as she is not microchipped.
In an update, posted on Monday, October 12, the Manx SPCA said the dog was still waiting to be reunited with her owner and asked anyone who recognises her, or knows who she belongs to, to get in touch.
The charity can be contacted on 01624 851672 or by emailing [email protected].
A £21 fee applies to stray dogs taken into the charity’s care to cover cleaning and staff costs.
The Manx SPCA also reminded dog owners that microchipping is a legal requirement, and urged residents to check their garden fences and ensure their pets are secure as windy weather sets in.
Staff are trained to microchip animals, with the service available by contacting the charity.
The charity said the dog was the third stray to come into its care within 24 hours.
