Right then, it’s St Patrick’s Day, and we’ve done the hard graft so you don’t have to.
Yes, while you were deciding which shade of green to wear, we’ve been conducting some serious investigative journalism (purely for public service reasons, of course) to find the best Guinness deals on the island today.
And we’ve got results.
First up, over in Laxey, The Bridge Inn have come flying out the traps with what they’re calling 'a real treat for you', and they’re not wrong.
£3.50 a pint of Guinness. All. Day. Long. Not bad at all. Respect where it’s due.
BUT… hold onto your shamrocks, because Douglas has entered the chat.
Down at Jaks Bar & Smokehouse, they’ve gone full send with £2.99 a pint of Guinness all day.
Yes, you read that right. Two. Ninety. Nine.
They’re also throwing in homemade Irish stew with crusty bread for £4.99 (dangerous combo after a few pints), happy hour prices on everything else, and Irish music around the Champions League games.
'The cheapest pint of Guinness probably on the island,' they say. Bold claim. We like it.
Meanwhile, not to be outdone, The Front Porch in Douglas has basically turned the whole week into a stout-fuelled festival.
For the first time on the Isle of Man (they say), they’ve got Murphy’s, Guinness and Caffrey’s all in one place.
Add in live music from Jamie Blackburn today, a full week of celebrations, and 'plenty of craic'… and suddenly your just one pint plan is looking very optimistic.
Elsewhere in the capital, Nags Head is offering £4.30 a Guinness, but also a free stew! Not too shabby.
Meanwhile in Peel, the Creek are making westerners happy today. £4 a Guinness, all day LONG!
And just down the Quay, the Peveril are offering Guinness for £4 and Baby Guinness shots, two for £5.
So there you have it, your Gef-approved St Patrick’s Day guide.
Now the only question left is… how many are you actually having?
Slaynt vie, and remember, hydrate.
