The Isle of Man will go to the polls on Thursday, September 24, to elect 24 Members of the House of Keys for the next five-year term.
Each of the Island’s 12 constituencies will elect two MHKs, with seven candidates standing in Arbory, Castletown and Malew.
Here is a look at the candidates hoping to secure one of the two seats in the constituency.
* Juan Christian - Independent
Juan Christian has made support for working families and community regeneration central to his campaign. Drawing on his work in the third sector and children and family support, he says he has seen the pressures facing families first-hand.
Mr Christian believes the Island's financial challenges should not be tackled by squeezing household budgets or cutting frontline services. Instead, he wants to support the local workforce, established Manx industries and new markets, alongside regeneration in local towns and villages.
Locally, he has highlighted the need to secure a new Castle Rushen High School and improve access to healthcare.
* Steve Crowther - Independent
Steve Crowther, an architect who returned to the island in 2003 after working in the UK and Asia, is standing for a third time, having previously contested the 2016 and 2021 elections.
His priorities include expanding the economy, building affordable homes and bridging the digital divide. Mr Crowther argues the Island should be making better use of its potential as a stable place to attract investment, while focusing government attention on what he describes as the economy and community's core challenges.
* Mark Firth - Independent
Mark Firth is standing in a General Election for the first time. The vehicle technician has lived in the island for 25 years and has also been involved in the local performing arts scene, particularly live music.
His priorities are government reform, the cost of living, housing, and supporting local culture and tourism. He says he wants to help maintain the Isle of Man as a place where people can live, work and build a future.
* Kirrie Jenkins - Independent
Kirrie Jenkins is also a first-time House of Keys candidate. She works in the financial sector as a company secretary and has served as an Arbory and Rushen commissioner since 2021.
She says the island needs 'a new kind of leadership', with her priorities including a strong economy, prosperity and housing, honest government and protecting the Island for future generations.
* Jason Moorhouse - Independent
Jason Moorhouse, one of the constituency's sitting MHKs, is seeking another term after first being elected in 2016.
He says the next five years should focus on 'getting the basics right', with priorities including supporting local businesses, economic growth, healthcare, housing and ensuring government lives within its means.
* Abby Quirk - Independent
Abby Quirk has put Manx Care and CAMHS among her main priorities, alongside reform of the criminal justice process to improve communication and transparency for victims, and support for small businesses.
* Geoff Sutcliffe - Independent
Geoff Sutcliffe is campaigning on rebuilding trust between government and the public, bringing public spending back under control and improving long-term financial sustainability. He has also highlighted security, including border, energy and food security.
