Isle of Man estate agency Koops & Co has marked its first year in business by revealing that almost £5,000 has already been donated to local charities through its ‘Sell It Forward’ initiative.
The initiative was launched alongside the business in October 2025, with Koops & Co pledging to donate a portion of every completed property sale to a local charity or good cause chosen by the homeowner.
During its first 12 months, the initiative has supported Isle Listen, Hospice Isle of Man, MSPCA and Isle of Play, alongside smaller local charities and community organisations including Ed’s Man Club, Greenhills Animal Sanctuary and Breatheasy Isle of Man, with further donations still to come as current property sales reach completion.
The estate agency’s founders David and Kat Cox-Cooper created ‘Sell It Forward’ as part of their wider ambition to build an estate agency that could have a positive impact beyond buying and selling homes.
David said: ‘Sell It Forward was something we knew we wanted to do from the very beginning. We wanted to build a successful business, of course, but we also wanted that success to mean something for the community around us.
‘What makes it particularly special is that our clients choose the causes that matter to them. Every donation therefore has a personal story behind it, and over our first year those individual donations have added up to almost £5,000 for some brilliant local organisations.
‘We’re incredibly grateful to every homeowner who has trusted us over the last 12 months and helped us Sell It Forward. Knowing that each completed sale can also do some good elsewhere in the island is something that means a huge amount to us.’
The milestone comes as Koops & Co celebrates its first anniversary, having launched on October 1, 2025 with an ambition to challenge traditional perceptions of estate agency and offer a more personal, transparent approach.
Kat added: ‘We had big ambitions for Koops & Co when we launched, but the response during our first year has exceeded our expectations.
‘The feedback, recommendations and support we’ve received have been incredible, but reaching almost £5,000 through Sell It Forward is definitely one of the milestones we’re most pleased to celebrate.
‘We’re only a year in and there are already further Sell It Forward donations due as current sales complete, so we’re really looking forward to seeing what the initiative can achieve in the years ahead.’
