A new workplace café has been launched that will raise funds for an island charity.

Utmost Isle of Man has joined forces with Hospice Isle of Man to launch the new internal Care Café at King Edward Bay House for Utmost and Flutter employees.

Operated by Hospice Isle of Man catering staff and supported by Hospice volunteers, the café offers breakfast and lunchtime services, with all profits going directly to support the charity’s work in the local community.

Chief executive of Utmost Isle of Man Karl Moore said: ‘Hospice Isle of Man holds a special place in the hearts of many of our colleagues, having touched the lives of so many people across our community.

‘When the opportunity arose to welcome the Care Café into King Edward Bay House, it was an easy decision.

‘This partnership is about more than providing a great service for colleagues; it's about creating a meaningful connection between our workplace and a charity that delivers such vital support across the island.

‘We are proud to be working alongside Hospice and Flutter on an initiative that brings people together while helping to support the charity's long-term sustainability.’

The Care Café has been operating at King Edward Bay House for several months and has already become a popular addition for colleagues. Alongside providing a convenient catering service, the initiative creates an ongoing source of income for Hospice Isle of Man and demonstrates the power of collaboration between local organisations.

Mrs Fourie, director and head of Flutter's Isle of Man office, said: ‘Flutter is delighted to be involved in the Care Café initiative, a collaborative project introduced by Utmost and Hospice Isle of Man.

‘Since 2023, Hospice has served as an important charity partner for the Flutter Isle of Man office, and this involvement marks the latest chapter in a long-standing community partnership, with our company and colleagues remaining proudly committed to supporting the remarkable and life-changing work Hospice carries out daily across the island.’

To highlight the impact of the collaboration, a new contribution board has been introduced in the café, allowing staff to see how their support is building month by month.

‘The success of our public café at Hospice has shown how something as simple as buying a coffee or lunch can become a powerful way to support our work.

‘Building on that experience, we're delighted to bring the Care Café to King Edward Bay House, where every purchase will help fund the specialist care and support Hospice provides to patients and their loved ones across our island.
