Ramsey-based Surecode Software has been named winner of the Best Use of Technology category at the 2026 Startup Innovation Awards, organised by Business Awards UK.

The company, founded by island brothers Darren and Adam Jones, has also been recognised as a finalist in the Best B2B Startup category.

Surecode was originally developed in 2018 for Fit Hub, a private gym business on North Shore Road operated by Darren.

The software was created to automate bookings, payments and access control, allowing customers to reserve their own private gym studio and gain access using a unique entry code, without the need for staff to be present.

Recognising that businesses in other industries faced similar challenges, Darren and Adam developed the technology into a commercial software platform, launching it to external customers in 2023.

Today, Surecode provides integrated booking, payment and access control solutions to businesses across the UK, helping operators reduce administration, improve efficiency and offer their customers greater flexibility.

Darren said: ‘We're absolutely delighted to receive this award. Surecode started as something we developed out of necessity for Fit Hub, so to see it recognised nationally for its use of technology is incredibly rewarding.

‘We've always believed that technology should make running a business simpler, not more complicated. Our aim is to help business owners automate the everyday tasks that take up so much of their time, giving them more freedom to focus on their customers and growing their businesses.

‘We're a small team with big ambitions, and we're proud that something which started here in Ramsey is now being used by businesses across the UK.

‘There's still a huge amount we want to achieve with Surecode, and this recognition gives us even more encouragement to keep pushing forward.’

The company continues to develop its software, with solutions designed for businesses offering private bookable spaces, classes, appointments and other services.
