A man who smashed a glass panel in a door at his mother’s house has been put on probation for six months.

Twenty-nine-year-old Michael William Kaighin admitted criminal damage and was also ordered to pay £125 prosecution costs.

We previously reported that the defendant was at an address in Albion Terrace in Ramsey on April 14.

He was asked to leave, but verbally abused the occupant before leaving.

However, 20 minutes later, he returned and started kicking a door.

Kaighin, of Peel, then punched a glass panel, shattering it.

Defence advocate Ian Kermode said Kaighin had issues with alcohol, but now had medication that made him sick if he drank and was working with the Drug and Alcohol Team.
