Police are appealing for information after a large quantity of power tools was stolen from a construction site in Castletown.

The tools are believed to have been taken during a series of thefts at the School Hill construction site between October 7 and 14.

Officers say the stolen items remain outstanding and are urging members of the public to be vigilant if they are offered power tools for sale at unusually low prices or in suspicious circumstances.

Police are particularly keen to hear from anyone who has been offered tools they suspect may be stolen or has spotted advertisements for power tools being sold without proof of ownership.

They are also appealing to anyone who witnessed suspicious activity around the construction site during the period in question.

Anyone who has recently bought second-hand power tools and is unsure of their origin is being encouraged to contact police for advice.

Anyone with information about the thefts or the whereabouts of the stolen items should contact PC Washington at Castletown Police Station, quoting reference 97/6837/26.

Information can also be provided anonymously through Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
