The Bigfoot Sunflowers and Pumpkin field at Ballawhetsone in Ballabeg is offering some of its sunflowers to island charities and nursing homes.
Posting on social media, the organisers of the southern attraction said: ‘Would you like some beautiful Ballabeg sunflowers to brighten someone’s day?
‘We’d love to offer some of our sunflowers to local charities and nursing homes across the island.
‘You’re very welcome to come along and pick some yourselves, enjoy a little trip to the sunflower field, or we can pick some for you if that’s easier.
‘Whether they’re used to brighten a room, given to residents or simply shared with someone who could do with a little sunshine, we’d love to see them enjoyed.’
Those interested in taking up the offer should message the Bigfoot Sunflowers & Pumpkins Ballabeg Facebook page or contact 490310.
The farm’s Bigfoot Maize Maze is now open until the end of the school summer holidays.
Open every day from 10am to 4pm, the £5 entry for adults (under-16s are free) includes access to the sunflower field mentioned above.
The maze includes a special Bigfoot Duck Hunt which sees 20 yellow ducks dotted about it. Those that find them all are entered into a prize draw for a Jac Stores voucher.
Free parking is available in the field opposite and the farm is on a bus route.
Dogs and picnics are welcome.
- Have you got a farming or agriculture event to share? Whether it’s a farm open day, agricultural show, livestock event, machinery demonstration, charity fundraiser, or another event celebrating the Isle of Man’s farming community, we’d love to feature it in our newspapers and websites.
Email the details to [email protected], and be sure to include your phone number so a reporter can get in touch to verify information if needed.
