The Isle of Man Young Farmers is to mark its 80th anniversary with a dinner and dance at the Villa Marina Royal Hall in November.

The event will take place on Friday, November 13, with doors open to past and current members, as well as friends and supporters of the organisation.

Tickets for the dinner and dance cost £35 per person and include a welcome drink and a pie and mash dinner provided by Victory Café.

Guests attending the dinner and dance are asked to wear black tie, and the evening will also feature live music, a DJ and an 80th anniversary tombola draw.

Over the past eight decades, Young Farmers has developed into a prominent rural youth organisation in the island, providing members with opportunities to take part in social, competitive and agricultural activities.

The movement is made up of four regional clubs – Northern, Southern, Eastern and Central – and membership is not restricted solely to people working in agriculture.

One of its best-known annual events is the Young Farmers' Concert, which has been running since 1971. The event sees the four clubs compete through a programme of sketches, comedy, music and dance, and has become a regular fixture in the Manx entertainment calendar.
