The Tough Mucka event, due to take place at Cronk Honna Road in the south of the island, was postponed on Sunday because of the weather conditions.

Organisers announced that the event will now be held this Sunday (October 4).

In a statement, organisers said the decision was made following consultation with the event management team, with the safety of participants, volunteers, staff, suppliers and others involved in the event given as the main consideration.

A spokesperson from Tough Mucka commented: ‘We know this is incredibly short notice, and we’re really sorry for any inconvenience or disruption this may cause.

‘This isn’t a decision we’ve taken lightly, but the safety of our participants, volunteers, staff, suppliers and everyone involved in the event has to be our main priority.

‘Thank you so much for your understanding, patience and support. We really appreciate everyone who has put time and effort into getting Tough Mucka ready, and we look forward to welcoming you all next Sunday.’

Now in its fourth year, Tough Mucka has become a firm fixture in the island’s fundraising calendar, bringing together individuals, families and teams to take on a physically and mentally demanding obstacle course designed to test resilience, teamwork and determination.

The event plays a key role in supporting Isle Listen’s work delivering its preventative mental health education programme for young people across the Isle of Man.

This year’s event will feature a refreshed format, including new 10km and 5km adult routes, replacing the previous longer distances, alongside a dedicated 2km course for younger participants.

Organisers say changes have also been made to improve the overall event experience, with a more inclusive layout designed to encourage spectators to remain engaged throughout the day.

Isle Listen has also been working closely with the farming community to strengthen relationships with landowners and ensure the event continues to run smoothly across rural sites.
