The organiser behind two of the Isle of Man’s popular music festivals has cancelled his planned Half Moon End of Summer Party due to health reasons.
Scotty Bradshaw, who runs the Full Moon Festival and its smaller sister event, has announced that the Half Moon festival, which was due to take place at the Manx Fun Farm in Onchan on Saturday, September 12, will no longer go ahead.
He said: ‘You're probably wondering why you haven't seen me hammering the posts on the Half Moon Party, which is supposed to be next Saturday, and it's because I have been waiting to have an appointment.’
Scotty explained he’s having problems with his voice, and is ‘thinking of himself on this one’.
He apologised to those who had booked tickets, and confirmed refunds will be in people’s accounts soon.
The decision follows a busy summer for Scotty, known affectionally as the ‘tap man’, whose Full Moon Festival has grown from a grassroots event into one of the island’s best-known music gatherings.
The three-day Full Moon Festival was staged earlier this summer, while the Half Moon event was intended to provide a smaller end-of-summer celebration.
However, organiser Bradshaw have now confirmed that the September event has been cancelled.
The announcement will come as a disappointment to those who had planned to attend, particularly following the success of this summer’s main Full Moon Festival.
But the outpouring of heartfelt messages are sure to have lifted Scotty’s mood, and he confirmed he’s looking at other dates later in the year at the same venue to celebrate something he’s put a lot of time and effort in.
