Access to Jurby Beach has been improved with the replacement of wooden steps which had previously been damaged by stormy weather.
The Department of Infrastructure has replaced the lower section of the steps leading from Sartfield Road with a galvanised steel structure.
The department said the original wooden steps had been damaged by tidal action in the past, with the exposed coastline regularly taking the full force of winter storms.
Rather than replacing the steps like-for-like, the new structure has been designed to allow water to flow through it, reducing the impact of waves.
The galvanised steel steps have also been securely bolted to the concrete base of the main structure, providing a more durable route for people accessing the beach.
