Isle of Man Scouts and Guides have returned home after an unforgettable week of adventure, new experiences and international friendship at Chamboree 2026.

A group of 45 Scouts, Explorers, Guides and Rangers from the island, accompanied by nine adult volunteers, travelled to Liverpool before continuing their journey to the Cheshire Showground in Tabley for the event.

The week-long international camp brought together more than 6,000 young people from across the UK and around the world, giving the Isle of Man contingent the chance to experience one of the biggest events in the Scouting and Guiding calendar.

Throughout the week, the young people took part in a huge variety of activities, including climbing, caving and land yachting, while also learning new skills such as 3D printing, flying drones, drumming and bell ringing.

The camp also provided an opportunity to make new friends and learn about different cultures. The island contingent met Scouts and Guides from across the UK, as well as young people from Ireland, Thailand, Egypt, China and many other countries.

Neil Simpson, Scout Association Isle of Man’s deputy lead volunteer for activities, said: ‘Chamboree has been an incredible experience for our young people.

‘Seeing them take on new challenges, try activities they may never have experienced before and make friends with Scouts and Guides from around the world has been fantastic.

‘They have developed new skills, grown in confidence and created memories and friendships that will stay with them for many years. It has been wonderful to see the Isle of Man represented on such a large international stage.’

The trip was supported by the Steam Packet through its Manx Community Assistance Scheme, which provided valuable assistance towards the cost of travel to the UK.
