Volunteers will pick up rubbish from the bottom of the Mooragh Park lake in Ramsey on Sunday.

The lake will be drained for the Beach Buddies event.

The charity has organised clean-ups there in the past, with almost 200 people taking part in 2019, clearing away rubbish which had gathered on the bottom of the lake and around the perimeter of the park itself.

The finds included three mobile phones - one of which was still working. The owner was one of the volunteers - and took it back home with him.

The bottom of the lake can be muddy, so volunteers should dress appropriately if they clear rubbish from the bottom of the lake.

However, around the outside of the lake it’s better.

Volunteers will meet at 10.30am near Conor’s Cafe and Beach Buddies will distribute all the equipment.

The session finishes no later than noon.
