A community picnic promoting peace, friendship and unity will be held in Douglas this weekend.
The ‘Picnic for Peace’ will take place at Hutchinson Square Gardens from noon on Sunday, September 20, ahead of the International Day of Peace the following day.
The event forms part of UN Peace Week and aims to bring people together to meet their neighbours, share food and build connections within the community.
Organisers are encouraging people to bring a picnic, a friend and their ideas for promoting peace.
The event will focus on themes including friendship, dialogue, unity, respect, compassion and community.
A new peace plaque at Hutchinson Square will also feature as part of the event.
Organisers say everyone is welcome to attend.
