A rider is being treated at Noble’s Hospital following an accident at Brandywell this afteroon.

The rider’s injuries are still being assessed but are not thought to be life-threatening.

The Mountain Road was closed from the Hairpin to the Creg ny Baa to allow emergency services to deal with the incident, which involved a UK-registered Suzuki. It has since reopened.

Meanwhile, a man will appear in court tomorrow after a motorbike overtook the Roads Open Car at the 33rd Milestone last night.

The rider of this motorbike, a 44-year-old man from Stoke on Trent, handed himself into the police today.

Yesterday, a 67-year-old from West Yorkshire was jailed for four weeks and banned from the island for walking onto the closed road at Crosby, delaying Monday night’s practice.

Police said robust action will be taken against anyone who disregards the rules of closed road and the directions of marshals.
