A second candidate defeated in the general election is seeking a political comeback - this time as a local commissioner.
Former health minister Lawrie Hooper is standing for Liberal Vannin in the North ward of Ramsey Town Commissioners at the by-election on Thursday, December 3.
He faces independent candidate Nikola Brindley, with just one seat available in the ward.
Mr Hooper served as a Ramsey commissioner from 2012 to 2016 before being elected to the House of Keys.
Lifelong Ramsey resident Ms Brindley has a background in dental nursing.
In Ramsey's South ward, four candidates are contesting two seats. They are Gillian Corlett, Victoria Dunne, Stell Moss and Louise Whitelegg.
Meanwhile, former government minister Michelle Haywood is among eight candidates competing for the two available seats on Port St Mary Commissioners.
The other seven candidates are Sarah Comish, Julie Gibney, Ann Murray, Daxaben Patel, Edwin Ryan, William Teare and Matthew Warren.
The Port St Mary by-election in December follows the departures of commissioners Bernadette Williams and Glenys Brunt.
Dr Haywood, a former infrastructure minister, has previously served as chairman of Port St Mary Commissioners.
