The Snaefell Mountain Railway service has been suspended due to power issues, Isle of Man Railways has confirmed.

The operator issued an update on Saturday morning, saying the service would be unable to run until further notice.

A statement said: ‘We are currently experiencing power issues on Snaefell and are unable to operate the service until further notice.’

Isle of Man Railways said work was under way to resolve the problem.

It added: ‘We are currently working to fix the issues. Apologies for any inconvenience caused.’

No indication has yet been given as to how long the disruption is expected to last.

Passengers planning to travel on the Snaefell Mountain Railway are advised to check for further updates before making their journey.
