A major road in Foxdale is set to close from Tuesday to Thursday due to resurfacing and tree felling works.
Between 9am and 4pm on Tuesday October 6, Wednesday October 7 and Thursday October 8, the A3 Foxdale Road between lower and upper Foxdale will be closed in order for the works to take place.
A spokesperson from the Department of Infrastructure commented: ‘Hamilton Close, Lower Foxdale, is to be resurfaced as part of planned highway maintenance works.
‘These road closures are to allow a contractor acting for a private landowner to undertake roadside tree felling. The resulting reduction in traffic is expected to assist progress with the resurfacing works at the Foxdale Road and Hamilton Close junction. Local traffic management arrangements will be in place.
‘At the same time, another highway services team will undertake gully repairs on Main Road, Higher Foxdale, near the Mines Road junction.
‘These works will proceed under temporary traffic lights and are also expected to benefit from reduced traffic levels while the road is closed nearby for tree works. It is anticipated though that gully repairs will likely carry on into next week.
‘Motorists are advised to allow extra time for journeys and to follow all traffic management measures.’
As a result of the closures, Bus Vannin has advised customers of service changes.
On these days, between the 8.45am service 4b and 3.20pm service 4 departures from Peel Town Hall, there are no direct services between Peel and Foxdale.
