Two local shops will take over postal services in Onchan once the village's main post office closes next month.
Hassan Patel and his wife, Hafswa, who took over the Main Road post office in 2014, announced last month they will cease trading on August 3.
That would have left the village without a post office, but Isle of Man Post Office (IOMPO) has now appointed two new independent retail partners to provide postal services.
Following a procurement exercise, services will be introduced at Costcutter - Birch Hill Stores and Shop Local IOM - Ballachrink Stores in Onchan.
Services at Costcutter - Birch Hill Stores will launch on Tuesday, August 4. Initially, they will be available between 9am and 5pm before being extended to the store's full opening hours, seven days a week.
Services at Shop Local IOM - Ballachrink Stores will follow from September 1 and will also initially be available between 9am and 5pm, with plans to extend them to the store's full opening hours, seven days a week, in due course.
IOMPO chairman Stu Peters MHK said: 'We are delighted to have secured not one, but two new retail partners in Onchan. This will give customers more choice and greater convenience, while helping us maintain accessible postal services within the community.
'Working with local retailers continues to play an important role in how we deliver postal services across the Island.'
The procurement exercise also covered Foxdale and Jurby, but no expressions of interest were received. Customers in both communities will continue to have access to postal services through existing arrangements, with the nearest postal counter in Peel for Foxdale and Ballaugh for Jurby.
Foxdale customers can also access some postal services through the existing self-service kiosk at EVF Petrol Station.
IOMPO said it remains committed to maintaining reliable and convenient access to postal services across the Island.
