A road in Port St Mary may be closed for two days following a gas leak.
Manx Gas have had to obtain an emergency road closure for Athol Street, between Athol Place and The Quay, because of a gas escape from a low pressure main.
Work has started to identify the location of the escape and then carry out a repair or replacement of the section affected.
No properties are affected and every effort will be made to effect a repair as quickly as possible.
However, repairs may not be finished until last afternoon on Wednesday (December 20).
A spokesman for Manx Gas said: ’Safety of the public and operations will be our priority and we will advise of any changes to the plan or timescale.
’We apologise to all those affected and ask for your patience whilst repairs are carried out. If any special requirements are needed by anyone affected please contact us direct on 644489.’
