Commonwealth Games bronze medallist and Isle of Man athlete David Mullarkey will represent Great Britain at the European Athletics Championships this weekend.

This year’s event got underway at Alexander Stadium in Birmingham on Monday and continues until Sunday (August 16).

The 10k race is due to get underway at 8.25pm and is being broadcast on BBC One.

Already a GB international, Mullarkey made his senior debut for Great Britain at last year’s 2025 European Athletics Team Championships in Madrid, finishing eighth in the men’s 5,000m.

He will line up in Birmingham alongside fellow Britons Joe Wigfield and Scott Beattie, the latter of which also competed in the 10km race in the Commonwealth Games and finished fifth behind Mullarkey.
