Entries are now open for this year's Peel to Douglas Trail Race which takes place later this month.

This year, entries are online and close at 9pm on Friday, September 18 ahead of the event taking place two days later on Sunday, September 20.

This race has its origins dating back to 1909, making it a truly historic fixture on the local athletics calendar.

The race covers approximately 10.5 miles along the Heritage Trail, starting at 9am from Peel Fish Yard and finishing in Douglas at the end of the TT access road near Quarter Bridge.

The route features a gradual climb through the first half before a gentle descent towards Douglas, with a mixture of loose gravel and tarmac sections.

There will be an extensive prize list available.

Entry costs £10 for Manx Harriers members, £12 for attached participants and £14 for unattached participants

Number collection will take place between 7.30–8.30 at the Creek Inn, Peel on the day of the race, while drinks stations will be set up at St John’s and Marown.

The Heritage Trail remains open to the public, so please be considerate of other trail users and share the route safely.

A Motiv8 charity walk will also be taking place along the trail at a similar time. Please keep to the left when approaching walkers, slow down where necessary and give them plenty of space.

Motiv8 have been informed and will be asked to do the same.
