Lawn Bowls Isle of Man held its annual Men's Singles Championship on Saturday.

Mark McGreal faced Phil Connolly for the title watched by a large number of club members and spectators at the club’s green in Onchan Park.

Connolly played well, but McGreal, who had an impressive Commonwealth Games coming sixth overall, was able to score shots and make the magic number of 21 to claim victory and the title for the fifth time.

Club members were then able to bowl themselves in a round robin before enjoying the usual excellent buffet.

The championships continue this coming weekend with the women’s singles, that were postponed at the weekend, women’s pairs and mixed pairs titles all to be contested.

The Lawn Bowls Isle of Man committee congratulates Mark on his victory, offers consolations to Phil and thanks all members and spectators for their support.
