Manx Amateur Boxing Club’s female regional champion Alisha Craine produced another superb display at Bridlington Sports Centre last weekend.

Competing in the quarter-finals of the national development championships, the Isle of Man fighter defeated Yorkshire champion Leah Proctor to power into the national semi-final and establish herself among the competition’s top four female boxers in England.

Fresh from capturing the northwest regional title a week earlier, Craine arrived on the national stage carrying real momentum.

Facing the highly-regarded Proctor, the Manx boxer rose to the occasion and delivered a commanding performance. Craine made a solid and composed start in the first round, quickly finding her rhythm against the Yorkshire champion.

In the second round, she raised the tempo, stepping up the pressure and beginning to seize control of the contest.

By the third round, the momentum was firmly with the Manx boxer and a sustained attack forced the referee to give Proctor a standing count, providing the defining moment of a powerful performance.

Craine’s rise to the national semi-finals is more than an individual triumph - it is a testament to the strength of female boxing at Manx ABC which now has seven female boxers on its books.

Her success is blazing a trail for the next generation and proving that female boxing at Manx ABC boasts an exciting future.

The victory secures Craine’s place in the national semi-final and confirms her position among the competition’s final four.

The semi-final will take place this weekend on Saturday in Kettering, when a further victory would take her through to the national final on the following day.

Having already claimed the northwest regional title, Craine will now look to continue her impressive run on the national stage and move one step closer to championship honours.
