Peel and Union Mills will go head-to-head in the Canada Life Premier League on Saturday as they look to keep the pressure on leaders Corinthians.
The westerners welcome second-placed Mills to Douglas Road in a meeting between two of the early protagonists in the top flight this season.
Corinthians currently lead the way with 23 points, with Union Mills three behind but with a game in hand after making an impressive start to the campaign.
The Millers maintained their unbeaten record last weekend with a 3-0 victory over Braddan, Jack Keelan scoring twice and Dane Leadbetter also finding the net.
Peel will be looking to make home advantage count and close the gap on the leading sides: the westerners currently sit fifth in the table and are four points adrift of Union Mills.
Like this weekend’s opponents, they have a game in hand over leaders Corinthians.
St Mary’s will also be looking to stay in touch with the top positions when they travel to Onchan in what is likely to be a close contest.
The Saints currently sit fourth in the table after drawing 2-2 with Laxey last Saturday. Sammy Gelling and Thomas Callow were on target in that encounter, but they will be keen to return to winning ways against an Onchan side which has also made a solid start to the season.
The Os go into the game on the back of a 2-1 victory over Ramsey, a result which lifted them to sixth in the table.
Having already recorded a memorable victory over Peel recently, the Nivison Stadium outfit will be hoping to claim another big scalp against one of the division's leading teams.
Third-placed St John’s United, level on points with St Mary’s, entertain Ramsey at home. The Saints were held to a 1-1 draw by Rushen United last weekend, Alex Holden getting their goal, and will be eager to collect maximum points this time around and maintain pressure on the top two.
Having suffered that narrow 2-1 defeat at Onchan, Ramsey face another tough assignment as they look to get back to winning ways. They have 10 points from their opening eight matches and will be keen to start moving up the table and away from the drop zone.
Just below them in the standings, Braddan and Rushen meet in a fixture which could prove important in the battle to move away from the relegation positions.
The Swans are currently ninth on seven points after their defeat to Mills, while the Spaniards have five following the aforementioned draw with St John’s.
The remaining fixture sees RYCOB entertain Colby in a meeting between the bottom two.
Both sides will be desperate to kickstart their seasons, with Colby having one point and RYCOB yet to get off the mark.
The southerners suffered a heavy 7-0 defeat against league leaders Corinthians last weekend, while Youthie have not played since a 6-0 reverse at the hands of Peel and will be hoping home advantage can help them secure a much-needed result.
