Douglas Royal moved to the top of the Canada Life Women’s League following an impressive 3-1 away win against Peel at Douglas Road on Sunday afternoon.
The westerners have been scoring freely this season, but they were without the goalscoring services of the in-form Scarlett Callister at the weekend.
The Ballafletcher side led 1-0 at the break courtesy of a Caitlyn Smith strike, before Smith doubled her side’s advantage in the 78th minute.
Peel pulled a goal back in the 89th minute through Lisa Costain, but with the match in added time, Royal secured the points via a Rebecca Cole penalty.
Elsewhere, the dream debut season continued for Douglas and District as they defeated Onchan 6-3 at Blackberry Lane.
The Os led 3-2 at the break, but the Noble’s Park side turned the match around after the interval to secure their second win of the season.
Izzy Grumbley netted her first senior goal for the Yellows, with Poppy Gerrard and Megan Dooley also finding the target.
It was a dream debut for D&D’s Evie Anderson who bagged a hat-trick on her 16th birthday. Liv Davis (2) and Alex Christian also found the target for this season’s newcomers.
Corinthians secured their second win of the season with a 9-0 victory over Rushen United at Croit Lowey.
Lydia Shaw, Lula-Belle Findlay, Milly Dawson and Chloe Teare all helped themselves to braces and were joined on the scoresheet by Mica Santos for the Ballafletcher side.
