In the only local rugby game to survive the weather at the weekend, Vagabonds men lost out 12-5 at home to Dukinfield in Counties Three ADM Lancs/Cheshire in somewhat challenging weather conditions at Ballafletcher.

With the strong wind at their backs in the midst of Storm Austen, the Manx side led the game 5-0 at half-time courtesy of a Josh Modin try.

But the five-point lead wasn't quite enough and Dukinfield ran in two in the second half to claim the spoils. Vagas do of course pick up a losing bonus point but that will be little consolation.
