A woman has been jailed for six weeks for breaching Covid regulations.
Kimberley Alice Parker, 33, of Bromet Road, Castletown, admitting drinking at a friend’s house and ignoring two police requests to return home.
She appeared before High Bailiff Jayne Hughes on Monday facing two allegations that she breached Covid-19 regulations on January 15.
Parker pleaded guilty to both charges.
The court was told how police had responded to a call out on Friday evening after the defendant’s son reported she had been drinking on medication.
Officers located Miss Parker at an address on King William’s Way drinking alcohol.
She refused to leave when prompted twice by police before being forcibly removed.
Parker’s advocate, Paul Glover, said his client had been drinking following an argument with her son.
Mr Glover said that his client had been confused about regulations surrounding not being permitted to enter other households during the lockdown.
Mrs Hughes sentenced the defendant to six weeks in custody, stating: ’I am sentencing you to send out a clear and loud message to anyone who may consider breaching Covid regulations.’
