The Steam Packet Company has confirmed a freight sailing was cancelled on Thursday due to issues with the vessel.

The ferry company confirmed the Arrow has suffered a technical fault and says engineers are working to rectify fault ahead of next crossing scheduled for Sunday

A spokesperson said: ‘The company can confirm yesterday's Arrow sailing was cancelled due to an internal technical fault on one of its control pitch propellor systems.

‘Engineers are working on this and once completed the vessel will resume its next scheduled sailing on Sunday, August 9.’

Despite the issue, the Steam Packet says freight operations have not been impacted by the cancellation.

It is the latest setback for the company which had to bring the vessel back to the island for freight sailings while Manxman is out of service due to an issue with the propulsion shaft bearings.
