Beachcleaning volunteers will be asked to clean one of the longest stretches of beaches it has tackled in the south of the island when they meet on Sunday morning.
The challenge - starting at 10.30am - is to cover a length of beach of more than a mile stretching from the edge of Port St Mary to Fisher’s Hill.
This is one of the sections of coastline in the Isle of Man most frequently affected by marine litter and all previous beach cleaning events in this area have produced considerable amounts of rubbish, including quite significant amounts of commercial fishing gear, such as nets and lobster pots.
Volunteers from Beach Buddies will be split into groups to tackle different sections of the area.
The meeting point is at the slipway, opposite the Shore Hotel in Brewery Bay.
As always, all equipment is provided, and items collected will be recycled where possible.
New volunteers are always warmly welcome, and a large number have joined Beach Buddies during this summer.
There’s no need to register - just turn up and join in.
