Union Mills Brownies and Rainbows, in conjunction with Braddan Commissioners, have planted large numbers of daffodil, narcissus, snowdrop and crocus bulbs in their Wildflower Wood at Cronk Grainagh.

In 1999, June Gawne, Brown Owl of Union Mills Brownies, established the Wildflower Wood with the support of the commissioners, to celebrate the Millennium.

At that time hundreds of bluebells, snowdrops and daffodils were planted and have been continued to be planted, since then by the Brownies and Rainbows.

The Brownies and Rainbows planting this year came as part of the commissioners’ initiative to encourage organisations and businesses in the parish to plant bulbs.
