UCM’s (University College Isle of Man) training Salon, Synnova, will open again this month.

Hairdressing and barbering appointments will become available from this week, while beauty treatments will begin from the end of November.

A UCM spokesperson said: ‘Synnova provides members of the public with the opportunity to receive salon-quality treatments at a fraction of the high-street cost, while supporting students as they develop the practical skills needed to achieve their qualifications.

‘From haircuts, styling and colouring services to a variety of beauty treatments, every appointment plays an important role in helping students gain the real-world experience required for success in the industry.

‘While treatments are delivered by students, customers can feel confident knowing that all services are closely supervised by experienced staff who have extensive professional backgrounds in hairdressing, barbering and beauty therapy.’

The salon forms a key part of the learning experience for students studying hairdressing, barbering and beauty programmes at UCM.

Working with real clients enables learners to build their confidence, refine their technical skills and gain valuable experience in a professional salon environment.

Appointments are expected to be popular, and members of the public are encouraged to book early once services become available.
