A local photographer has teamed up with Curraghs Wildlife Park to create a calendar for 2022 starring the animals of the park.

The calendar features images by Stephen Corran, who has captured the playful spirit of many of the animals including a penguin, a meerkat, otters and a small monkey enjoying a snack. A percentage of sales will go towards caring for the animals in the park with other funds going towards conservation projects and breeding programs for endangered species.

Mr Corran said: ’All the images in the calendar are mine and I was immensely happy to have been approached by the park to do something like this. The park does a lot of work to assist in the conservation of endangered species (quite a few of which they have in the park) through breeding programs and fund raising for various conservation projects around the world.

’The money raised from the sale of the calendars will go towards helping to look after the animals there, and I will also receive a small percentage from each sale which I will be donating to one of the conservation projects at the end of the year.’

He added: ’Did you know that zoos and aquariums are the third biggest funder of wildlife conservation on the planet?’

The calendar costs £8, and is available to buy from the park shop.

For those who do not live on the island and still wish to support the park, they can be posted, with a small delivery charge added.
