Members of a part-Manx and part-British electro-rock group have delved into one of their member’s back catalogues for their latest single.

Call Me Amour has released their latest single, ’Deeper’, shortly before heading out on a sold-out tour of Britain in support of top-rated UK rock band.

Led by singer Harry Radford and guitarist Geoff Murphy, ’Deeper’ is a modern version of a song Geoff wrote and released more than 20 years ago, for his previous band, Jacoba.

’It was originally on the Jacoba album, "Easy Listening For Foreigners",’ said Geoff.

’It is a song I have played a lot over the past few years, and it hadn’t really crossed my mind to play any of my old songs in this group, even though people still ask about them.

’But Harry really liked this song in particular, and he thought we could do something decent with it.

’We have re-written it a bit, and made it sound more like this band, and we all think it sounds great.’

Call Me Amour is due to start a tour tomorrow night (Friday) with the group Dinosaur Pile-Up, who have themselves just come off an American tour with US punk legends Offspring and Sum-41.

In a nice tie-in with the island, Dinosaur Pile-Up frontman Matt Bigland once fronted the group Mother Vulpine, who played several gigs in the Isle of Man in the mid-2000s.

The tour starts in Bristol, before heading to Manchester, Birmingham, Glasgow and London.
